Football has been a major facet of my weeks this past season. From watching pre-season games (boring) in Virginia to hitting Sundays hard with my neighbors in Park Slope to the finals in Pittsburgh with an all-star cast to last night’s spectacle.
This season was about talking a LOT of smack, over brews and greasy things and other things. The commentary has made me a better woman, and it has reminded me that when all else fails, there is wit.
And WOW can I say a thing or 2 about the production value of the NFL coverage?! Incroyab’ Really bringing out the drama and beauty in the ballet that is each football game. If you don’t get what’$ going on, get over it. Just look at the butts and when people do back handsprings into the endzone. America, that is talent.
So I forgive the Steelers for ruining my life:
you were the team I was following all season long, and then you hurt yourselves, and made bad decisions, and altogether sucked it up right when I needed you the most.
And in memoriam, I’d like to thank the Steelers for sacrificing themselves so that the GIANTS could win last night. This is the last thing I will ever have to say about the Giants (ha!)
And so tonight our skyline will be lit up blue, and I can start devising new Sunday activities, just in time for spring!!
